Promotions Committee

We promote Fairport and Perinton as a destination to regional, national, and international audiences. We host travel writer and tour operator familiarization tours; create and place ads in the Visit Rochester, Finger Lakes, and Upstate travel and tourism guides; manage social media pages with 15,000+ followers; provide 500 visitor and new resident welcome bags annually; operate a visitor information center and kiosk in Box Factory.

Event Marketing – We produce the annual Fairport Oktoberfest celebration; provide advertising, public relations, and marketing support for Fairport Canal Days, Scarecrow Festival, and Come Home for the Holidays. We also provide in-kind support to Fairport Music and Food Festival and other community-benefit events.

Tourism and destination marketing is a big part of our mission and one reason why nearly 3,000 boat nights (slip rentals) are recorded each six-month navigation season, in Fairport alone.

Historical canal basin and trolley stop facts and present-day development come together in the name and logo we created and assigned the business district formed by the newly aligned intersection of Fairport/Jefferson/O’Connor Roads.

Despite its misleading zip code, the “Basin” is most definitely in the Town of Perinton - and perfectly so. Hence our logo and tag line to reinforce that fact.
